Aitor Karanka has raved about reported Leeds United target Adama Traore in The Sun.

Karanka worked with Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Traore at Middlesbrough.

The Spaniard has said that the 25-year-old has huge potential and is pleased by the progress he has shown.

Traore is part of the Spain squad for the Euro 2020 finals.

Leeds United rumour

Eurosport reported in February that Leeds are keen on signing Traore from Premier League rivals Wolves this summer.

What’s been said

Karanka told The Sun: “Sometimes you find very good players who think they have reached the top, yet Adama is the opposite.

“Through that mentality he has transformed himself into one of Luis Enrique’s most useful assets — and he can get better because his potential is amazing.

“Adama has always had the ability to conjure something out of nothing with his tremendous pace, power and dribbling skills.”

Leeds United transfer?

The Times reported this month that Wolves will sell Traore in the summer transfer window.

The winger himself wants to leave.

Traore is a very good winger who has improved a lot and can only get better.

The 25-year-old scored two goals and gave two assists in 28 Premier League starts for the Wanderers this past season.

Leeds will not get Traore on the cheap.

Traore cost Wolves £18 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Middlesbrough in 2018, as reported by BBC Sport at the time.

The Wanderers are likely to ask for at least double of that.
