Rangers riff on Celtic Champions League pain as they issue Midtjylland reminder after qualifying exit

Ange Postecoglou's men crashed out at the second round qualifier stage in a disappointing night in Denmark.

The league kick-off is just days away but Rangers couldn't resist a pre-season wind-up of Celtic after their Midtjylland disappointment.


Celtic fell at the first hurdle in Champions League qualifying as they crashed out in the second round at the hands of the Danes.


Ange Postecoglou now faces a battle just to continue the European run as they drop into the Europa League when they take on Czech side FK Jablonec.


It continues a horror run in the Champions League as Celtic fail to reach the group stage for the fourth consecutive campaign.

In contrast, Rangers have found their feet in European competition under Steven Gerrard enjoy runs to the latter rounds of the Europa League and will begin their campaign in the top tier of continental competition next week against Malmo.

They have had some recent highlights, but opted to share part of their run to the group stage back in 2019 - when they saw off Midtjylland.

The clubs 'goal of the day' on Twitter was coincidentally Scott Arfield's strike in Denmark in the third qualifying round, which eventually saw the Ibrox side through 7-3 on aggregate.

It comes just hours after the massive disappointment for their Glasgow rivals, and seems a bit more than a coincidental post from the champions' social media team.

The spats in Glasgow are already starting, and a Premiership ball hasn't even been kicked.
