The international break has now concluded after England were held to a 1-1 draw by Poland in a feistily contested game.
Manchester City quartet Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Kyle Walker and John Stones all played the full 90 minutes, with centre-back Stones overcoming a first-half injury scare to complete the game.
Harry Kane gave the Three Lions the lead with a stunning strike from distance but Damian Szymanski leveled for the hosts deep into injury time.
Though the international break has now ended, with City looking forward to facing Leicester City on Saturday, it could still have an impact on the club.
Brazil have taken the remarkable decision to invoke a rule that means any players who did not accept their call-up for the recent international fixture are unavailable to play for their clubs in a five-day window, which could see Gabriel Jesus and Ederson forced to miss the game.
However, the Premier League are ready to speak to FIFA and other relevant parties in order to try to find a political solution to avoid a ban.

Leicester tussle key for Stones
The solid partnership formed by Ruben Dias and John Stones last season was a wholly unexpected one, yet one that undoubtedly played a crucial role in Manchester City's successful season.
After a tricky opening few months to the campaign, the duo placed a water-tight seal on City's backline, helping Pep Guardiola's side to a third Premier League title in five seasons and a first-ever Champions League final.
Although Aymeric Laporte has been preferred to Stones as Dias' partner so far this campaign, muscle fatigue sustained by the Spain international and Nathan Ake's absence due to personal reasons could present Stones with a chance to reclaim his place in Pep's starting XI this weekend.
But that won't be as easy as it sounds.

Kampl issues Man City warning ahead of Champions League tussle
RB Leipzig midfielder Kevin Kampl has issued a defiant warning to Manchester City ahead of next week's Champions League Group A opener at the Etihad Stadium.
City, who reached the final of the Champions League last term, will get their 2021/22 European adventure under way when they welcome Leipzig to the Etihad on Wednesday evening.
Also facing Paris Saint-Germain in the battle to gain one of the top two spots in the group to advance to the knockout stages, City will know that they will have to beat the likes of Leipzig to keep pace with the French giants.
Kampl said:
City also have one of the best teams in world football. They have a lot of quality, and on paper you’d say that PSG and City should progress.
But we can surprise people and we have it in us to upset any team. We will give everything to get out of the group because otherwise there is no point playing.

Polish FA 'deny' Glik claims
The Polish Football Association has denied that centre-back Kamil Glik racially abused Manchester City and England defender Kyle Walker during last night's clash in Warsaw.
In England's latest 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier, which finished 1-1, tempers flared at the half time interval, with both sets of players arguing quite heavily.
The situation is claimed to have extended from Glik reportedly racially abusing Walker, with the right-back having to be held back by his Three Lions team-mates.
It has since been reported that the Polish FA denies the claims.

Guardiola 'eyes' Modric
Manchester City are eyeing up a deal for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric when his Real Madrid contract expires next summer, according to Catalan newspaper El Nacional.
It is claimed that Guardiola sees the former Tottenham Hotspur man is the 'ideal midfielder'.
It is also reported that Guardiola believes he is yet to source his 'perfect' midfielder at the Etihad Stadium.

Ferran Torres has become an 'undisputed favourite' with Spain and boss Luis Enrique and has a record currently held by Raul in his sights.

Scott Carson in line for Man City start at Leicester after Brazil punish Premier League clubs
Scott Carson could make his second Manchester City start after the club were threatened with sanctions if they play their Brazilian stars at Leicester.
The Blues were one of a number of clubs who refused to release their South American players for international duty given they would be forced to quarantine for 10 days on their return after travelling to red list countries, unable to even train.
However, as reported by the Times, Brazil have hit back and have asked FIFA to invoke rules banning any clubs from using players for a five-day window. That would rule Ederson and Gabriel Jesus out of the trip to Leicester at the weekend despite the fact that they have been training in Manchester ahead of the game, although they would be free to take on RB Leipzig on Wednesday. Picking the pair at Leicester could result in FIFA determining City to forfeit the match.

'It's not even up for debate' - Roy Keane talks Raheem Sterling's role for Man City and England
Roy Keane labelled Raheem Sterling a key man for club and country ahead of England's final fixture of the international break.
Sterling carried over his excellent form from Euro 2020 as England moved their attention to World Cup qualifying. He netted the opening goal of their 4-0 victory against Hungary in Budapest, setting the team away to a convincing result emblematic of how the national team has improved under Gareth Southgate's tutelage.
The flying winger has developed into a prolific goalscorer over the past few years, owing to the supreme coaching of Pep Guardiola. He has refined his game from a tricky, pace merchant that hugged the touchlines to a goalscorer with a poacher's instinct, a testament to his hard work and determination to improve.

Man City 'keeping tabs' on left-back Theo Hernandez and more transfer rumours
Manchester City are keeping tabs on highly-rated AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez, according to reports.
Despite City breaking the British transfer record in acquiring Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, their transfer window ended quietly following their failed attempt to lure Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur.
The England captain was reportedly the name at the top of the list of City's transfer chiefs. Still, their plans to bring the superstar striker were scuppered after failing to meet the asking price of Spurs' notoriously stubborn chairman, Daniel Levy.
