Leicester vs Man City prediction: Pep Guardiola's side can shut down misfiring Foxes at the King Power Stadium
Manchester City have hit their straps early this season and are short price to pick up where they left off before the international break
The Manchester City bandwagon hasn't taken long to crank into gear this term and if anything, the international break probably came at the wrong time for Pep Guardiola's side who have recorded back-to-back 5-0 wins in their last two Premier League matches.
A trip to Leicester is unlikely to provide quite such easy pickings for the Premier League champions but they head to the King Power Stadium as red-hot 4/7 favourites to come away with maximum points.
Gabriel Jesus has started the season brightly (one goal and three assists) so it would be a blow should the 24-year-old, along with goalkeeper Ederson, be blocked from playing in this fixture by the Brazilian FA. That situation is yet to be resolved. City aren't short of attacking options though, especially as it looks like they will be welcoming back Kevin de Bruyne and Phil Foden from injury, which isn't good news for the Foxes.
However, it's at the other end of the pitch that City have been really impressive so far. Last season's title bid was built on a strong defensive unit and, despite the opening day defeat, that has continued into 2021/22. Guardiola's side are giving up just 0.51 xGA per game which spells trouble for a Leicester City side that are really struggling to create big chances, despite winning two of their opening three Premier League games.
Despite taking six points, Brendan Rodgers' side have been outperformed on xG by all three opponents so far (even Norwich City), averaging just 0.95 xGF per game and if they can't find some improvement in the fluency of their attacks, they are going to be in trouble on Saturday.
Manchester City won't be a bet for many at 4/7, unless they are going into an acca, but the formbook says they might be able to collect all three points without conceding, which makes the 37/20 about Man City to win to nil the play.
