Some Tottenham fans react to Toby Alderweireld’s Twitter message

Whilst Tottenham endures an indifferent time in the Premier League, one of their former players has got off to the perfect start in his new home.

A lot of Spurs supporters were left devastated when fan favourite – Toby Alderweireld – left the club this summer.

But the 32-year-old, who joined Qatari side Al-Duhail, has won three games out of three and posted this Twitter message after that perfect start.

Spurs fans reacted to his message, with some stating that they miss him in North London.

Despite the club’s struggles last season, Alderweireld was one of Jose Mourinho’s better players at the back.

A lot of arguments could have been made that other centre-backs perhaps should have left before the Belgian, but it seems as though he wanted a fresh start as he comes towards the back end of his career.

But the new road he has decided to go down has seemingly seen his side win three from three.

Al-Duhail are sitting top of Qatar’s top-flight, as Alderweireld’s arrival has made a difference – last season they missed out on the title by 13 points.

Nonetheless, it seems as though some selections of the Spurs fanbase wouldn’t mind him back.

In truth, the guys that are now playing at the heart of the defence – Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez, and most recently, new boy Cristian Romero, haven’t actually done a bad job.

It’s a case of the tactics from the manager and what’s around them that is the issue, well, recently anyway.
