Atletico Madrid fans mock Josep Maria Bartomeu outside stadium
The former Barca chief gave them Luis Suarez and bought Antoine Griezmann
Ahead of Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona on Saturday night, the home fans mocked former Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
They put a plaque alongside Antoine Griezmann’s at the stadium, reading: “Legend Josep Maria Bartomeu ‘Nobita’, vice-president 2015-20”.
It refers to Barca buying Griezmann for huge money from Atletico and then giving him back, as well as selling Luis Suarez to the capital club.
Suarez went on to fire Atletico to La Liga glory last season and scored against Barcelona in this game.
Bartomeu has not appeared publicly since his resignation in October 2020.
