Former Celtic ace Ramon Vega blasts Albian Ajeti’s Swiss recall despite throwing hat in ring to be new Hoops chief exec

FORMER Celtic defender Ramon Vega has launched an attack on Hoops striker Albian Ajeti winning a recall to the Switzerland squad…just weeks after throwing his hat in the ring to be the new chief executive at Parkhead.
The ex-Swiss international defender had a short stint in Glasgow during the 2000/01 treble-winning campaign under Martin O’Neill and the 50-year-old - who has gone on to become a successful businessman since hanging up his boots - has made his interest known in replacing Dominic McKay in the role.
But the former Spurs ace, who won 23 caps for Switzerland and played in Euro 96 for them, has been left stunned that his country issued a surprise recall to Ajeti for their World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Lithuania.
Vega said: "I am very surprised that Ajeti was called up and I really can't understand it.
"He actually only plays at Celtic because the manager has no other options due to many injuries. And he wasn't really convincing.
"I see little dynamism, little speed in him - I only see a few predatory qualities, which he does too seldom.
"I don't know what he stands for as a striker.
"I think Royal Antwerp's Michael Frey, who is quick and also scores, would have been the better choice."

Meanwhile, Ange Postecoglou is ready to return to Japan to plunder their end-of-season transfer market and bring the next Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic.
Kyogo has become a fans’ favourite with seven goals since his £4.5million switch from J-League side Vissel Kobe in July.
Former Yokohama F Marinos manager Postecoglou — who takes his side to Aberdeen today — is an expert in that market after title joy with his last club.
And he’s revealed that Celts have already targeted stars to follow Kyogo, right, Shunsuke Nakamura and Koki Mizuno to Parkhead. Postecoglou said: “Yeah, that’s one of the markets we will be looking at.

“Obviously I know it well and they will get to the end of their season which is a good time if there’s anyone who will fit into our set-up.
“We will be looking everywhere. The last window was frantic. This time we want to make sure that we are planning well in advance.
“We have already identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window."
Celts brought in 12 players in the summer window but Postecoglou added: “There’s no secret we still need to add to the squad.

“We were never going to do it in one transfer window, particularly when you look at the significant exits we had over the past year.
“This was always going to be a two to three window process.
"We know the areas we need to bolster. That doesn’t necessarily mean adding experience.
“It’s about getting more players that I believe can play the type of football we want to play.
