Ian Wright has suggested on the Wrighty’s House podcast that it still looks as if Leeds United new boy Junior Firpo is trying to settle in.
Firpo taking time to settle
Firpo joined Leeds from Barcelona this summer and has immediately been thrust into Marcelo Bielsa’s starting line-up.
The Spanish full-back has had little time to adjust to Leeds’ tactics and that has, perhaps, shown in his initial performances.
Firpo hasn’t quite looked at home in Leeds’ team yet, although his display against Watford last weekend was his most encouraging to date.
Leeds picked up their first win of the Premier League season during that match against the Hornets.
And Wright feels that the Whites’ slow start shouldn’t be judged too harshly yet, as they are without so many key players.
He said: “I think with Leeds we have to wait until they get their main players back.
“I think Firpo looks half-decent, but it still feels like he’s taking his time to settle in.
“It’s so ruthless this league. If you lose a couple of players, and you have a certain way of playing and it’s integral to what you’re doing and you lose them, it’s not like anyone in this league is going to go ‘let’s take it easy’. They’re going to crush you!”

Best still to come?
Marcelo Bielsa actually has suggested that Firpo is yet to put in a performance which he has given above a 7/10 rating.
However, there is faith that in time he will come good for Leeds,
Firpo certainly has the attributes to make an impact at Elland Road, given his attacking qualities.
Leeds should also be stronger after the international break, when they will hope to have Patrick Bamford back fully fit.
Bielsa’s side’s first game back comes in two weekends’ time when they take on Southampton at St. Mary’s.
