WE got there in the end.
A tough watch for most of the night but thankfully it is another three points for Scotland in the end.
But the Faroes will count themselves extremely unfortunate not to take at least a point from the game.
Here is how the Scotland players rated over in the Faroe Islands.
CRAIG GORDON: Would have hoped for quiet night but forced into a magnificent save from Jonsson to keep his side on level terms and showed safe hands throughout. 7
RYAN FRASER: Off the pace early on but he certainly wasn’t alone. Better after the break as he finally got forward and flashed balls across goal. 6

JACK HENDRY: Again deployed on the right of a back three and did little wrong but was understandably sacrificed for McGregor as Scotland chased a winner. 5
GRANT HANLEY: Back from suspension and made his presence felt early on with some crunching challenges and eventually booked for a high arm late on. 6
KIERAN TIERNEY: Set up McTominay chance at end of first half but unable to find too many pockets of space and fired wide from distance. 6
ANDY ROBERTSON: Unlocked the door against Israel but found the well organised Faroes a different proposition and saw crosses and shots charged down time and again. 6
JOHN McGINN: So often the talisman but couldn’t come up with a big moment as Gestsson saved his header but always a threat as he tried to get onto crosses in the box. 6
SCOTT McTOMINAY: Israel hero returned to midfield and made key challenges late on. Forced decent early stop out of Gestsson and fired free kick over. Booked. 6
BILLY GILMOUR: Use of the ball wasn’t up to same standard as weekend, but went close to scoring with three second half efforts, the last flying a foot wide. 6
RYAN CHRISTIE: Almost won penalty but ruled offside before he was brought down and booked for high arm on Hansson, meaning he’ll miss Moldova next month. 5
LYNDON DYKES: Became the first Scotland player since Colin Stein to score in four successive games with the ONLY chance he had five minutes from time. Also booked and out of Moldova. 7
SUBS
CALLUM McGREGOR: Set up Gilmour chance and saw injury time shot saved by Gestsson. 3
NATHAN PATTERSON: Thrown on for Fraser and set up Dykes winner with superb near post cross. 3
KEVIN NISBET: Replaced Christie as Scotland searched for a winner. 2
