Newcastle ‘make contact with former Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Nabil Fekir’ over January transfer

NEWLY rich Newcastle are ready to splash their cash with a January move for Nabil Fekir.
The 28-year-old was previously on the verge of a move to Liverpool in 2018, and has also been linked with Arsenal in the past.
According to footmercato, contact has already been made between the Magpies and representatives of the Frenchman.
But now the Real Betis midfielder is attracting interest from Newcastle's mega-rich Saudi owners.
Betis are eager to tie Fekir down to a new bumper contract following his cut-price £18million move switch from Lyon in 2019.
His current deal expires at the end of next season and the Andalusians want Fekir to put pen-to-paper on an extension to avoid losing him for a small fee.
Fekir himself has down-played rumours linking him with a move away, but has not completely close the door on a move to Tyneside.
He admitted to Betis TV: "You never know in football, but the truth is that today, I do not think of the other offers. I am at Betis and I am very happy here."

Fekir is not the only star linked with a January move to Newcastle.
Struggling Chelsea man Timo Werner has also been touted as a potential signing.
The Magpies are rumoured to be 'in regular contact' with the striker's agent as they prepare to splash the cash.
Steve Bruce's side are now the richest club in world football - worth a staggering £320BILLION.
And SunSport exclusively revealed last week that Amanda Staveley has promised the Toon Army “world-class” players.
Joint-owner Staveley claimed: “We are in the market to compete for world-class players.
“We have great ambitions — I hope it’s going to be a game changer for Newcastle United.
"But if you don’t put the infrastructure around that world-class player and you don’t have a team that can play with him, you’ll get nowhere.”
