Benfica may reportedly be allowed to loan Real Madrid midfielder Reinier Jesus in January with the youngster struggling for game time at Borussia Dortmund.

Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating whether to end Reinier Jesus's loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Soon after leaving Flamengo for the Bernabeu in 2020, the Brazilian was allowed to spend a two-year spell at the Westfalenstadion in order to receive regular game time.

However, the 19-year-old has made just one start and 23 substitute appearances in all competitions, far below the expectations of Los Blancos officials.

According to AS, Benfica are standing by to sign the prospect on a temporary basis during the January transfer window.

The report suggests that Dortmund will be given the final two-and-a-half months of the year to improve Reinier's situation.

Nevertheless, with the playmaker largely being restricted to cameo appearances thus far, a switch to Portugal in the New Year appears likely.
