David Ginola has claimed that Allan Saint-Maximin is a player Newcastle can ‘build’ their team around going forward with their new takeover, as he told Sky Sports (17/10/21 at 4:10 pm)
The former St James’ Park favourite has claimed that Saint-Maximin is a player who ‘deserves all the credit’ for what he has done for Newcastle.
With the North East club now the richest in the footballing land, it does mean that a large majority of this current squad won’t be at the club in a few years time.
Like Vincent Kompany before Manchester City’s takeover, there might just be one or two that survive.
Ginola named his fellow countryman Saint-Maximin as someone who can be part of Newcastle’s long-term project from the current crop.
“Well, I am thinking about Saint-Maximin,” said Ginola. “He is one of the players who deserves to have all the credit.
“We talked the resource and we talked about the way they play. He is always a player that looks to go forward.
“He is always positive with the ball. You can build with a player like that. He will not make everything. But this is the sort of player Newcastle should get in the team looking at the future.”

Whilst Newcastle fans dream about the type of player they can bring through their doors during these coming years, they have to concentrate on their current problems.
Steve Bruce, who is still in charge, finds his side are sitting in the relegation zone, with zero wins to their name and in serious need of picking up.
If they are to do that then someone like Saint-Maximin is going to be pivotal in them surviving.
His positive and unpredictable ways make him a problem to deal with, but if the Magpies can get him further up the pitch, then he will put the ball into the back of the net on a more regular basis.
