Defiant Brondby boss rejects Steven Gerrard Rangers verdict as he shows off Europa League confidence surge

The Danes prop up Europa League Group A ahead of tomorrow night's vital showdown in Copenhagen.

Confident Brondby manager Niels Frederiksen is backing his team against Rangers but rejects it's do-or-die for his side.

The Danes prop up Europa League Group A and the Ibrox side know a win away from home will have them in mix for a place in the last 16.

But Frederiksen admits he doesn't subscribe to Steven Gerrard 's theory it's a must win for his side who currently sit two points adrift of Rangers.

And he insists he is looking at the big picture ahead of a clash in front of their raucous home support.

He said: "I heard about the Rangers press conference, Gerrard said it was a must win game for us, I don't see it that way, to be honest.

"Of course, we will try to win and it will be best to win, no doubt, but we will still have two rounds to play after the match tomorrow.

"So it's not over, of course it would be best to win, but it's not for us a must win game."

The Brondby boss is acutely aware of the challenge against a side who have avoided defeat away to the likes of Porto, Villarreal and Benfica in recent seasons.

And Frederiksen agrees with the Liverpool icon that his side must start the match with real intention on Thursday evening.

He added: "In that respect he's probably more right than saying it's a must win game, of course we will go out there and be there from the first minute.

"We will try and chase a goal, that will be the way to do it here in Brondby."
