Rangers player ratings as Ryan Kent back with a bang in Brondby but Fashion Sakala has a lot to learn
Steven Gerrard's substitutes made the difference with scorer Ianis Hagi on target and Ryan Kent impressed on his return from injury.
Steven Gerrard had to rely on his super subs to earn Rangers a precious Europa League point against Brondby in Denmark.
Leon Balogun's first half own goal left the Light Blues needing to come from behind yet again to take something from a game.
And they managed it with Ianis Hagi scoring and Rangers know a victory over Sparta Prague Ibrox by more than the single goal defeat they went down to in the Czech capital should see them through.
But only Gerrard's triple substitution of Hagi, Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe injected life into Rangers in the second half.
Here's how the players rated.
Allan McGregor
Could do nothing about the Brondby goal but looked relieved after he fired a clearance against Michael Uhre. Showed his experience by claiming a couple of tricky crosses. 6
James Tavernier
The skipper was denied his 100th club assist when his six-minute corner drifted out of play before swinging back in to find Morelos. 6

Never really looked comfortable having no-one to mark as the Brondby front pair split wide but got his blocks and headers in when they did choose to engage. 7
Leon Balogun
The Nigerian didn’t know much about his own goal as the ball ricocheted off his face. Had a big chance to make amends but fired straight at the keeper. 6
Borna Barisic
The Croatian returned after a couple of games out through injury. Deliveries were bang on early doors but he tired as the game wore on. 6
Glen Kamara
Busy start but really showed his class after taking Davis’ role in front of the back four, with a string of cute first-time passes helping set his team in motion again. 7
Steven Davis
Still as neat and tidy as ever but the influence the veteran Northern Irishman once exerted over these big European games is waning. 6
Scott Arfield
Got the nod to start after his impressive return at Fir Park but faded after a bright start. Vital block ensured Gers didn’t fall further behind as second half got underway. 6
Joe Aribo
Arguably Rangers’ most consistent performer in recent weeks and he was again a key component as the Ibrox men fought back for a point. 7
Alfredo Morelos
Booked inside first three minutes but only an errant corner from Tavernier denied him the opener. Came close with two other attempts. 6
Fashion Sakala
The weekend hat-trick hero looks like he has a lot to learn if he’s to succeed at this level, with both his hold-up play and finishing loose. Harshly booked after tripping onto Andreas Bruus. 5
SUBSTITUTES
Kemar Roofe: Only had a couple of sniffs at goal but neither was strong enough to make count. 5
Ryan Kent: Back with a bang after a seven week lay-off as he climbed off the bench to tee up the equaliser. 8
Ianis Hagi: Produced a superb finish to level the game and keep Gers in the qualification fight. 7
Juninho Bacuna: Replaced Davis with 20 minutes left and helped Gers up the tempo. 4
Calvin Bassey: Given the final 10 minutes as Gers chased the win. 3
