Ryan Christie set for Scotland role as Lyndon Dykes misses out on Denmark World Cup qualifier start

The Bournemouth star has been in impressive form in the Championship so far this season and he gets the nod from Steve Clarke.

Bournemouth playmaker Ryan Christie is set to start for Scotland in the decisive World Cup qualifier against Denmark.

Steve Clarke 's side face a mammoth task at Hampden to take anything away from the runaway group leaders after securing a playoff spot.

A point at the national stadium could be enough to become a seeded side in the playoff draw and book a crucial home semi-final.

However, Record Sport understands talisman Lyndon Dykes will not be fit enough to start the game.

Che Adams will once against lead the line, having netted in Chisinau, with Christie playing just behind the Southampton forward.

The former Celtic attacker missed the trip to Moldova through suspension and has saved some of his best performances for his country in recent seasons.

Since his move to the Championship in the summer, he has chipped in with five assists as the Cherries push for the league title.

Clarke had previously rated Dykes chances of making the games as "50-50", with the 26-year-old proving to be key in the run to the playoff spot scoring four goals in his last four caps.
