Jay-Jay Okocha sends Mohamed Salah message and title advice to Liverpool

Liverpool are set to lose Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita to the Africa Cup of Nations in January but Jay-Jay Okocha believes Jurgen Klopp's squad can cope

With Liverpool set to lose Mohamed Salah in January due to the Africa Cup of Nations taking place, Jay-Jay Okocha believes Jurgen Klopp’s men have enough to cope without the Egyptian.

Liverpool’s squad will be tested even further as Sadio Mane and Naby Keita will also take part in the tournament after the turn of the year.

It goes without saying that Klopp will miss the trio but former Bolton man Okocha thinks Liverpool’s squad is good enough to say in the hunt for the Premier League title.

Okocha doesn’t rule out the absences harming Liverpool but thinks they have enough to cope.

“Well, I think you can always put that into consideration, but I think they have a big squad,” Okocha told Ally McCoist and Gabriel Agbonlahor on their Talksport breakfast program.

“They must have done their homework, putting Africa Nations Cup into consideration.

“And then South American cups comes up in the summer, which deprives some players of their holidays.”

The former captain of Nigeria also gave his opinion on who he thinks will come out on top in the race for the Premier League title.

“I think it’s all about how you manage your squad and whoever manages better in January, I think, stands a very good chance of winning the title,” Okocha added.
