'Nailed on' - Coventry City boss Mark Robins blasts Birmingham City over two major incidents
Birmingham City saw midfielder Ryan Woods sent off
Mark Robins believes Birmingham City head coach Lee Bowyer has nothing to complain about after the goalless result at the CBS Arena.
The Coventry City boss felt aggrieved after his side did not get a "nailed on" penalty when Dion Sanderson fouled Viktor Gyokeres in the box.
Blues, meanwhile, saw midfielder Ryan Woods sent off for a foul on Ian Maatsen, which was described as 'cynical' by Robins.
"We should have a nailed on penalty," Robins told CoventryLive.
"That was the story of the game, a penalty that wasn't given.
"They had a shout for one but I have seen that back and he kicked our player, and ours was just a wrestling match where he pulled the shirt off his back and threw him to the ground. If that’s not a penalty, I don’t know what is.
"I just don’t see why that’s not given. So there’s the disappointment. He was thrown down and I just don’t get it."
When questioned about Woods' sending off, the Sky Blues boss replied: "The sending off was nailed on.
"When Maatsen was running away from Woods it was a cynical, cynical foul and people get injured from that type of challenge from the back.
"That was disappointing. You don’t like to see players sent off but that was as cynical as I have seen, and that can injure players.
"So I was pleased to see him get up from that challenge.
"You don’t like to see it but they were then down to ten men and we tried to make the extra number count and didn’t quite get there.
"He’s gone to take him out. That’s the way they are, that’s the way they play. Both Adi (Viveash) and I were saying back in our day when we played it was exactly that."
Although City had chances to break the deadlock with Blues reduced to 10 men, Robins added: "We created enough opportunities but didn’t show enough quality in the final third and that was the story of the game.

"They were hanging on at times, we had a load of possession, moved the ball OK, got into good positions and then put the ball into the goalkeeper’s hands. But he had a really good game, their goalkeeper, although we allowed him to.
"And then we were trying to chase, so we were a little bit anxious in the final third trying to get the goal, whereas prior to this, they have been calm, eked out chances and taken our chances, so it happens during a season.
"But it’s a point and every point in the Championship is tough, I have just said that to the players, and we move on to the next game."
