Arsenal have reportedly made a move to sign young Brazilian attacker Yuri Alberto from Internacional.

According to a report from Goal, via HITC, the Gunners have made an enquiry over signing the striker, who is valued at just £5.4million on Transfermarkt.

So far this season, Alberto has scored an impressive 19 goals in all competitions and the youngster's form has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal, who are making moves to bring him to England.

Alberto has been dubbed the 'new Neymar' in the past, which is an easy comparison to make given the Paris Saint-Germain forward's rise from the Brazilian top-flight to becoming one of the world's biggest talents.

If Alberto can achieve even half of what Neymar has in his professional career, then Arsenal would be stupid not to make a move for the Internacional striker.

With all this being said, football.london takes a close look at Alberto and brings you everything you need to know.

Who is Yuri Alberto?

The 20-year-old plays as a centre-forward, which is an area Arsenal supporters have been demanding the club to look at in the January transfer window.

Alberto is exactly 6ft, which is a decent size for a striker, with his strengths including his finishing and shooting from distance, according to WhoScored.

Meanwhile, his defensive contribution is seen as his only weakness, which should not concern the Gunners too much if their interest is indeed genuine.

WhoScored also offer a bit more insight into Alberto's style of play, including: Counter-attack threat, likes to play short passes, likes to do layoffs, does not dive into tackles and commits fouls often.

Where would he fit in at Arsenal?

Alberto has played predominantly through the centre for Internacional, but has also been used on the right-hand side of attack, in a similar position to what we see from Bukayo Saka on a regular basis.

The young Brazilian started his career at Santos, like Neymar did, but after coming through the academy there, he made the switch to Internacional last year.

Alberto penned a five-year contract with his current employers in July 2020. Since signing for The Red, he has been a revelation.

He scored his first hat-trick for the club in their 5-1 away victory over Sao Paulo in January of this year and netted his second treble against Flamengo in August.

Alberto has represented Brazil at youth level, with appearances at the Under-17s World Cup in 2017, but is yet to be included in the senior squad.
