Park Ji-Sung urges Son Heung-Min to join Manchester United
The former United midfielder has spoken out on his wishes for another South Korean to follow in his footsteps and grace the turf at Old Trafford.
Regarded as one of the most successful ever Asian players to grace the game, former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji Sung has declared his admiration for another South Korean to follow in his footsteps by turning out in the Premier League.
Park, who enjoyed a decorated seven year spell here in the North West, collected four Premier League titles and a Champions League triumph whilst with United and believes current Spurs forward Son Heung Min would 'excel at the Theatre of Dreams.'
Son, who is regarding as one of the league most clinical forwards, is often deployed alongside England captain Harry Kane for the North Londoners, but does sometimes operate out of either channel, in a position which the Reds are currently inundated with attacking options.
40-year-old Park left United back in 2012, and currently serves an advisor to K League 1 club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, helping with selection, scouting, and the training system of the sides current group of players.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with GOAL, the former Reds midfielder maestro believes Son would shine at Old Trafford, having netted 3 times in Spurs famous 6-1 victory back in October of last year.
"He has already proved himself in the Premier League and I believe he’s good enough to do very well at United," Park began.
"The only minor issue would be he may not get his favourite No.7 shirt as Ronaldo is already there!
"But if I had to pick someone other than Son, I would say either Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves or Mallorca's Lee Kang-in, who both have good potential as players."
Son has found the net seven times so far this season, and will look to add to his tally in a bid to further push Antonio Conte's side up the table as they currently sit fifth in the Premier League after just 14 games played.
