Arsenal youngsters thrashed by Colchester as Jack Wilshere gains coaching experience
Jack Wilshere was Arsenal U18s assistant manager as the Gunners were humiliated by a rampant Colchester United U18s side - who dumped them out of the FA Youth Cup
Jack Wilshere was handed his first dose of coaching experience as Arsenal's U18s were humiliated by Colchester United's U18s 3-0 on Friday evening.
Wilshere was the Gunners' assistant manager for the clash as he looks to gain coaching experience.
The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Bournemouth expired over the summer, and he failed to find a new club.
Wilshere has since returned to Arsenal to keep up his fitness levels - under the tutelage of his former midfield partner Mikel Arteta - and he's tried his hand at coaching.
However, Wilshere has stated he's not ready to hang his boots up yet.
"At the moment I am doing my coaching badges and the club is helping me with them and I am helping some of the Academy kids out as well," Wilshere told Sky Sports News.
"It is certainly something I enjoy and maybe something to look at in the future but for now I still want to play.
"I feel like I still have a lot to give and something to prove which is why I don’t want to finish playing now and start a coaching career just yet.
"It’s nice to be back seeing some old faces who I spent a lot of my life with."

Colchester put Arsenal to the sword at the JobServe Community Stadium as Ryan Lowe, Samson Tovide and Kaan Bennett all found the net.
The U's had put themselves ahead on the stroke of half-time before two late goals completed the rout.
