West Brom boss Valerien Ismael has handed starts to Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Tom Fellows as Albion take on Cardiff City at The Hawthorns on Sunday.

Gardner-Hickman, who has signed a new long-term contract on his 20th birthday this week, is rewarded with a recall after another impressive cameo in the defeat at Derby County on Monday. Fellows, his under 23s counterpart, plays in front of him on the right hand side after an equally inspiring half hour run-out at Pride Park.

Ismael also restores Alex Mowatt and Karlan Grant immediately after they both missed out at Derby. Grant returned what was ultimately a false positive Covid test before the trip to the Rams, while Mowatt’s absence was also related to Covid.

That means that quartet Darnell Furlong, Grady Diangana, Jayson Molumby and Adam Reach all find themselves on the bench, along with Jordan Hugill and Semi Ajayi, who has been called up to Nigeria’s AFCON squad this week.

Cardiff are without target man and top scorer Kieffer Moore through injury, and Leandro Bacuna also misses out after being sent off in their 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Thursday.
