Angel Correa scored a double as Atletico Madrid eased by Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, holding off the threat of the storming newly-promoted side.
The Argentine stuck in either half, pouncing on a rebound after Yannick Carrasco cut inside cleverly, powering past the stranded keeper on 28 minutes. Correa followed-up by tapping-in Thomas Lemar's cross.
Rayo made a stunning start to the season but couldn't trouble Atletico, even with Antoine Griezmann still sidelined through injury – as the stuttering Spanish champions leapfrogged back over the promoted side into fourth.
