Football club causes fury by promising new signing 'lots of Natashas' by joining

Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow sparked uproar after a transfer announcement went wrong involving new signing Yusuf Yazici, a Turkish international from Lille

Russian giants CSKA Moscow have caused fury after promising new signing Yusuf Yazici "lots of Natashas" as a reward for joining the club.

CSKA, who are currently fourth in the Russian Premier League, have signed Yazici on loan from Lille with an option to buy the star at the end of the season.

Like most players in the modern era, the Turkey international received a unique transfer announcement on social media - only this one went badly wrong.

Confirming the arrival of Yazici, one of CSKA's social media accounts posted a mock set of private messages between the player and the club.

So far, so normal. But it was the content of these messages that caused uproar on social media.

Things started off quite bland as the fake CSKA account asked: "Yusuf! Hi Yusuf! We're waiting for you. Yusuf? We are waiting to sign the contract???????"

But the last message read: "Yusuf, it's Russia, we have many Natashas here."

The fake Yazici account replied: "5 min. I'm on my way!"

While Natasha might not be a derogatory term in the UK, it has a different connotation in Turkey. There, it can mean prostitute or whore.

Understandably, CSKA's post caused plenty of outrage.

The Russian Football News Twitter Account labelled it: "One of the crassest and [most] terrible transfer announcements you'll ever see.

"We criticize foreign media a lot for their portrayals of Russia, but when local clubs act like this, it's even worse," it added.

CSKA's TV editor-in-chief Katerina Kirilcheva apologised for the transfer reveal and offered her :"Sincere apologies for the presentation video that was published by our media group."

"Initially we had another script for the video, but in the player's absence it was impossible to shoot the footage we needed," she claimed.

"Given the time constraints, I came up with another script that was unfortunate and inappropriate, and for many, also offensive. Once again, I apologize to our fans, especially ladies, and to Yusuf personally."
