Stephen Glass insisted Aberdeen should have been out of sight against Edinburgh City long before their third goal, as he gave an update on Funso Ojo's contract situation.

The Dons cruised past their League Two visitors at Pittodrie thanks to goals from Ryan Hedges, Christian Ramirez and Lewis Ferguson.

Aberdeen went in 2-0 up at the interval and hit the woodwork three times before Ferguson added the gloss in stoppage time.

Glass said: “I think the way we approached the first half made the game easier.

“We would have liked more goals in the second half but they made it difficult and the quality wasn’t quite there in the final third.

“It’s better than the reverse if you don’t start the game properly and have to chase the second goal.

“There’s more opportunities than that.

“JET’s (Jay Emmanuel-Thomas) is the obvious one. There are more opportunities there.

"We should be finding the corner a little bit better.

“It’s a lesson because if they had threatened a touch more, it could get a little bit edgy if they chuck one in and score a goal.

“The shot they had was dangerous. It’s very easy to become 2-1 at that point and the stadium changes a little. We should have been out of sight earlier but it’s a professional job.”

Glass added: “Even in an attacking sense for Funso, he’s always a threat. That’s why we trust him in those positions. He made a number of opportunities and had a number of shots of himself. He’s been brilliant for us.

“We’ve told Funso we’ll tackle it after the window. We’re all aware of the situation.”
