Comoros to play outfield player in goal for crunch Afcon clash vs Cameroon with ALL goalkeepers OUT after Covid outbreak
COMOROS will play an outfield player as keeper for their Africa Cup of Nations clash with Cameroon after all THREE of their goalies were ruled out.
The underdogs take on the hosts tomorrow with a spot in the quarter-finals of the showpiece at stake.
However, the 40/1 underdogs’ task has been made even harder by the fact that they have no fit goalkeeper.
First choice Salim Ben Boina was stretchered off in their win over Ghana and is out through injury.
That would have left it a straight choice out of back-up stoppers Moyadh Ousseini and Ali Ahamada.
But both understudies have tested positive for Covid and are unable to play - leaving the Comoros with a major problem.
The news is a massive blow to the minnows as they prepare for the biggest game in their history.
And it only mounts to their troubles with a total of seven stars missing due to coronavirus.

Now they are hoping their mystery man between the sticks can pull out all of the stops and become a national icon after confirming an outfield player will be in goal and training for it over recent days.
Comoros assistant manager Daniel Padovanni said: “We’ve already chosen an outfield player who will start as keeper.
“It’s a player who in training has shown that he can play as a keeper.”
Whoever it is will face a huge task to stop AFCON’s top scorers Cameroon, who hit the net seven times in their three group matches.
