The England international has fallen out of favour with Spurs and was left out of the squad on Sunday for the team's clash with Chelsea in the Premier League.

It's said that Newcastle are chasing a deal for Jesse Lingard and if that transfer was to falter then the Magpies may look to secure the services of Alli on loan.

The former MK Dons man was once rated as one of the most exciting prospects in European football, but he has struggled for regular minutes over the past couple of campaigns. He's started just eight games for Spurs in the Premier League this season.

Alli is said to be a target for Newcastle

According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan are ready to join the battle for Newcastle target Diego Carlos.

The Sevilla centre-back has been tracked by the Magpies throughout January, while another Premier League club is also reported to have made an offer for his services.

Now it would appear Carlos has admirers at the San Siro, with the seven-time European champions seeking to strengthen their defensive options due to the long-term injury suffered by Simon Kjaer.

Carlos has developed into one of the most dependable defenders in La Liga and his physical approach would appear to be a good match for the Premier League.

Bakker close to completing move

Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood have already arrived at St James' Park to bolster the squad and manager Eddie Howe now reportedly wants to strengthen his options on the left of his defence.

Bakker joined Paris Saint-Germain from Ajax in 2019 and was sold to the German outfit last summer, where he has established himself as a first-team regular.
