Celtic transfer news as Albian Ajeti exit route emerges and late Vasilis Barkas interest arrives from Sweden

The Swiss striker has failed to make an impact at Parkhead since his big-money arrival from West Ham.

Celtic flop Albian Ajeti is reportedly being considered for a late January swoop from FC Basel.

The Swiss striker has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the starting line-up since signing from West Ham in the summer of 2020 for a bumper £4.5million fee.

Ajeti has been given a second chance under Ange Postecoglou making 17 appearances and netting three times, but the 24-year-old looks to be quickly falling down the pecking order up front.

Johnny Kenny and Daizen Maeda have arrived at Celtic Park this month, following the recruitment of Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis in the summer.

Former club Basel are reportedly weighing up an approach for the striker with top scorer Arthur Cabral set to leave before the end of the month.
