The ex chief and his board was accused by current president Joan Laporta on Tuesday

Former Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu claims he is not worried after hearing what Joan Laporta said at the ‘forensic’ on Tuesday. Sources close to Bartomeu told EFE the the president “is even calmer” after hearing the conclusions of the investigation and that they “brought nothing new” that had not already been explained by media.

The same sources say that Bartomeu believes during the event that Laporta did not produce sufficient details that sustain the claim that there was mismanagement going on. Laporta had claimed up to 30 million euros was misused.

Laporta said there were “payments without cause, fake cause or disproportionate,” from the former board, and that “it can’t be ruled out that the was an unfair enriching of the authors of this conduct”.

However Bartomeu says neither him nor any member of his team had put their hands in the till.

Bartomeu met with his lawyers to discuss which strategy they would follow from here on out.
