Andy Gray has claimed Everton’s 3-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday ‘bore no resemblance’ to any of their previous performances this season.

The Toffees lost 3-1 at Newcastle United in midweek but bounced back in style in Frank Lampard’s first Premier League match in charge at Goodison Park.

The home side were 2-0 up by the 23rd minute thanks to goals from Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane before Anthony Gordon added a third late on to seal a crucial three points.

Lampard marked his first match in charge of the Blues with a 4-1 win over Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend.

But Gray was adamant that the display against Leeds was even better.

“That performance bore no resemblance to anything I’ve seen at Goodison this season,” he said during his post match analysis on beIN SPORTS .

“And I mean even the Brentford game.

“I know they said the cup tie was a win and it was a win, but it wasn’t like that.”

The win was only Everton's second in their last 16 Premier League games, but it was enough to move them five points clear of the relegation zone.

Lampard’s side also have two games in hand over 18th-placed Norwich City, and face a trip to Southampton in their next league game on February 19.
