Aberdeen appoint Barry Robson as interim manager following Stephen Glass sacking

FORMER Aberdeen midfielder Barry Robson has been placed in temporary charge at Pittodrie following the sacking of Stephen Glass.
The Dons have revealed that the ex-Celtic and Dundee United player will be assisted by Neil Simpson, Scott Anderson and team captain, Scott Brown.
Glass was sacked on Sunday morning after less than a year in charge following a dismal run of results culminating in Saturday's Scottish Cup exit at Motherwell.
A club statement read: "The Club confirms it has now put in place an interim coaching team to oversee first team affairs until a new manager is appointed.
"Led by Barry Robson, who will step up from his role with the U18s, the coaching team will comprise of Neil Simpson, Scott Anderson and team captain, Scott Brown.
"The interim coaching staff will hold their first training session with the playing squad tomorrow as they prepare for the visit of St Johnstone to Pittodrie in the cinch Premiership.
"The recruitment process for a new management team has now commenced.

"An update will be communicated in due course, but for now, everyone at the Club is fully focussed on the important match on Tuesday evening."
Jack Ross is the early bookies' favourite to land the gig on a permanent basis.
McBookie have released their early contenders to take over at Aberdeen with former Hibs gaffer Ross the current favourite.
St Mirren gaffer Jim Goodwin and ex-Celtic boss Neil Lennon are also in the running.

Barry Robson and Scott Brown are two other names who make up the top end of the betting market.
The next manager market includes the likes of Kelty Hearts gaffer Kevin Thomson, Ronny Deila and Gordon Strachan.
Glass’ time at Pittodrie comes to an end after just 11 months.
The 45-year-old only replaced Derek McInnes in March last year.
But despite being given huge financial backing to revamp the club’s playing squad, results have been poor.
