Ronald de Boer in Rangers and Borussia Dortmund prediction as former Ibrox hero weighs up Europa League 'upset'

The former Gers midfielder knows all about the quality in Marco Rose's side but expects a tight tie.

Former Rangers star Ronald de Boer believes his old club CAN stun Borussia Dortmund, but picked out a Dutch star they'll have to shut down.

This week sees Gio van Bronckhorst take his side to the Westfalenstadion for a glamour Europa League tie against the Bundesliga heavyweights.

Dortmund are favourites with many bookmakers to go all the way and lift the trophy in Seville, and despite the likely absence of Erling Haaland have a squad packed with quality.

De Boer acknowledges that his old club will be massive underdogs for the tie, but is adamant they can claim a huge scalp.

He told the Scottish Sun : "I think Rangers will have a chance of causing an upset. Of course Dortmund will be favourites as, behind Bayern Munich, they are the top team in Germany.
