Francisco Trincao says a lack of goals and assists have undermined that he has been doing "great things" during his loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Francisco Trincao has suggested that he deserves to be playing more games during his loan period at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Since moving from Barcelona to Molineux on a season-long deal, the Portugal international has failed to contribute a goal or assist during 21 Premier League outings, 14 of which have come from the starting lineup.

However, the 22-year-old has defended his mixed spell in the West Midlands, insisting that he has been doing "great things" during his time in England.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Trincao said: "I'm doing my best for the coach [Bruno Lage]. It's his decision, I have to respect it. Of course, I think I deserve more and I'm trying to do that and show that every day."

"If you just look for the end product, maybe you can say that [we haven't seen the best of me]. But if you look at football in terms of the whole game, you can say I'm doing great things.

"But normally people look for just the end product. But I'm trying to improve on that because I know it will give me the tools to be better and make people look at me differently."

Wolves have the option to buy Trincao on a permanent deal in the summer, although that currently appears unlikely with the player having not completed 90 minutes in the Premier League since December.
