Campbell: DCL decision is clear

Former Everton striker has claimed Dominic Calvert-Lewin must be starting tomorrow night alongside Richarlison if deemed fit to feature.

The 24-year-old missed last weekend's defeat to Wolves due to illness, though could be involved against Newcastle.

Issuing an update on the forward, Lampard said: "Dominic trained lightly yesterday off the back of not feeling great, so see how he is again this afternoon and looks toards the squad for tomorrow."

If he is deemed available, Campbell has no doubts that he should Calvert-Lewin must play.

“If Calvert-Lewin is fit, or remotely fit, then I think him and Richarlison have to play because you need as many threats on the pitch as you can get, and Everton haven’t been blessed with scoring a lot of goals," he told Goodison News.

Pick your team to face Newcastle

Everton are in action tomorrow evening against Newcastle United, in what promises to be a game of great importance.

Frank Lampard's side are in desperate need of three points to move clear of the bottom three, though will be up against an in-form Newcastle side.

The Magpies have turned around their season following their January signings and will make the trip to Goodison Park high on confidence.

Lampard faces a decision over which players should be starting, but who do you think will play?

Frank Lampard responds to Jamie Carragher 'disgrace' comments with 'together' Everton message

Everton boss Frank Lampard has responded to Jamie Carragher's opinion that the club's players are a "disgrace" - and urged the importance of togetherness ahead of the vital home with Newcastle United on Thursday.

Former Liverpool defender and now Sky Sports pundit Carragher pulled no punches on Monday Night Football after analysing the Blues' 1-0 home loss to Wolves on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the visit of revived Newcastle to Goodison Park, Lampard was asked about what Carragher had to say.

Paul Wheelock has the story.

Frank Lampard offers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Yerry Mina Everton injury updates

Frank Lampard has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin will need to be "assessed" to see if he has any chance of playing in Everton's crucial Premier League clash at home to Newcastle United on Thursday.

And Blues boss Lampard has also given an update on the fitness of midfielder Fabian Delph and defender Yerry Mina.

That duo will play no part against Newcastle and there has to be a doubt, too, over Calvert-Lewin, who is still feeling the effects of the illness that ruled him out of Sunday's 1-0 home loss to Wolves.

Eddie Howe confirms double Newcastle United injury doubt before Everton

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has given a fitness update ahead of Thursday night’s clash with Everton. A crucial home match for the Blues, Howe has admitted he still has injury doubts over two of his key players.

Prior to last weekend’s defeat to Chelsea, Newcastle had won six and drawn one across their last seven games and have risen to 14th in the table after being early candidates for relegation.

However, despite their impressive recent form, Eddie Howe may be dealt a double injury blow for his side’s trip to Goodison. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, the ex-Bournemouth boss admitted that midfield pair Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton were still doubts to face Everton.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke confirms Nathan Patterson talks with Frank Lampard at Everton

Scotland manager Steve Clarke hopes to see Everton defender Nathan Patterson break his way into Frank Lampard 's first team after struggling for minutes and starts since arriving from Rangers in January.

Patterson has only featured for the Toffees once, a 2-0 win over non-league side Boreham Wood in the FA Cup in January. But he only lasted 45 minutes and has not played for the first-team since.

Clarke says that he has spoken to Everton boss Lampard about reintroducing the 20-year-old into the first-team fold but understands that with Premier League survival on the line, it's difficult to integrate a youngster into a team that is battling to stay in England's top-flight.

David Moyes reveals 'People's Club' inspiration and what kept him up night before first game

The Echo's Chris Beesley spoke to David Moyes in an exclusive two-part special to mark the 20th anniversary of the Scot's first game as Everton manager.

Twenty years on from his appointment as Everton manager, David Moyes has lifted the lid on the true inspiration behind his now iconic ‘People’s Club’ declaration and revealed what kept him awake the night before his first game as Blues boss.

Recalling his whirlwind start on Merseyside, Moyes, now manager of West Ham United, told the ECHO: “It doesn’t seem like 20 years, I can still remember it all, the build-up, the day itself going to Goodison Park but in the same breath I’ve had a lot of football under my belt since then as well."

Everton linked with 'shock' Joe Gomez move

Everton have been linked with a shock move for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez.

Journalist Graeme Bailey told Anfield Watch that the Blues are among the clubs eyeing a move for the England international.

Game time has been scarce for Gomez this season following his return from injury, largely due to the form of Joel Matip and new signing Ibrahima Konate.

He's made 14 appearances in all competitions this season and played just 102 minutes of Premier League football.

The likes of Aston Villa have also been heavily linked with the defender, as have Tottenham, Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham.

Should he choose to leave Liverpool in the summer in search of more regiular game time, it would come as a huge suprise if he stayed on Merseyside with Everton.

Rumoured Everton target Luka Jovic 'left out' of Real Madrid squad

Rumoured Everton target Luka Jovic was left out of the Real Madrid squad for their 3-0 win over Mallorca on Monday night.

Eder Militao was the only first team player unavailable for the clash, meaning manager Carlo Ancelotti had to omit one player.

Jovic was the one not involved and Madrid-based outlet Defensa Central said: "[Ancelotti’s decision] will not have sat very well with Jovic, who has been overtaken by several players that perhaps he did not expect".

The 24-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Goodison Park and more recently, rumours suggested a January deadline day switch was on the cards.

The Echo understands the Blues mulled over a move and the player was discussed by the club's hierachy, but ultimately they decided to prioritise the midfield.

Whether Jovic returns as a possible target in the summer remain to be seen, Arsenal have also been linked with the Serbia international and would present fierce competition for his signature.

Everton 'reignite' interest in Barcelona's Neto

Everton are interested in signing Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, according to reports in Spain.

SPORT claims the 32-year-old is pushing for a move away from the Camp Nou and has been for some time.

It goes on to say the Blues are interested in a move, but not at the reported asking price of £12 million.

The player's agents are also reportedly working on securing a move to the Premier League for their client and it has been suggested Everton could be his best possible chance.
