Southhall makes appeal to Everton fans from the heart

Neville Southall has sent a passionate plea to Everton supporters urging them to get behind their side at Goodison Park tonight.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are the visitors to Merseyside for this evening's Premier League clash. The Blues come into the game in desperate need of all three points.
And ahead of tonight’s game, Southall has appealed to Everton fans to stick with the team and urged them to be loud and proud and make Goodison a real fortress.
“Hi all Evertonians. Everton is my club, my passion, my life. We need to get behind the lads tonight and really give it to Newcastle,” he said in a video clip posted on Twitter.

Challenge clear as fixture change prompts relegation reversal

Everton's home game against Newcastle United tonight is their biggest of the Premier League season. It may be their most important in any Premier League season.
After defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, the Toffees are on the brink of the top-flight trap door, only out of the relegation zone on goal difference and with a meagre nine points from their last 20 outings.
It's a game made all the more difficult by the resurgence of the visitors, who have done what Everton now have to do themselves - pull themselves out of the relegation mire.
Here's Matt Jones with the full story on how Newcastle swapped being the Premier League basement team to now being nine points above the Blues going into tonight's match.

Frank Lampard explains what has 'frustrated' him at Everton
Frank Lampard has spoken of his frustration at having a number of key players unavailable since his Everton arrival - and lifted the lid on how he wants his side to play.
The Blues head into tonight’s game against Newcastle United in desperate need of all three points as they aim to avoid the drop. Everton currently sit outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
However, since his arrival at Goodison Park back in January, Lampard has been unable to call upon a number of key players. Fabian Delph, Yerry Mina and Tom Davies have all been longer-term absentees.
While Ben Godfrey, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Demarai Gray have all spent time on the sidelines in recent weeks. And Lampard admits player unavailability has resulted in him having to change systems more than he would have liked since he took over from Rafa Benitez.

Naysmith sacked by Edinburgh City
Former Everton defender Gary Naysmith has been sacked by Edinburgh City - despite the club sitting in a League Two play-off position.
After signing for Everton in 2000 from Hearts, Naysmith went on to make 158 appearances for the Blues, and the former Scotland international took charge of Edinburgh last year.
A brief statement released by Edinburgh City read:
“Edinburgh City can confirm that Gary Naysmith has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
“We would like to place on record our thanks to Gary for his commitment to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Calvert-Lewin latest
Frank Lampard has confirmed Dominic Calvert-Lewin will need to be "assessed" to see if he has any chance of playing in Everton's crucial Premier League clash at home to Newcastle United on Thursday.
And Blues boss Lampard has also given an update on the fitness of midfielder Fabian Delph and defender Yerry Mina.
That duo will play no part against Newcastle and there has to be a doubt, too, over Calvert-Lewin, who is still feeling the effects of the illness that ruled him out of Sunday's 1-0 home loss to Wolves.

Everton 'reignite' interest in Barcelona's Neto
Everton are interested in signing Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, according to reports in Spain.
SPORT claims the 32-year-old is pushing for a move away from the Camp Nou and has been for some time.
It goes on to say the Blues are interested in a move, but not at the reported asking price of £12 million.
The player's agents are also reportedly working on securing a move to the Premier League for their client and it has been suggested Everton could be his best possible chance.
