Delph returns to training

In what will no doubt be a welcome sight for Frank Lampard, the latest set of Everton pictures from Finch Farm confirm that Fabian Delph is back in full training with the rest of the group.

The midfielder has been unavailable over the course of recent weeks through injury and hasn't played a Premier League match for his side since the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in December. That ended a run where he had played a part in five of his side's last seven matches in the competition, particularly looking strong in games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur.

Since then, a thigh issue has kept the midfielder on the sidelines, but he looks to be nearing a potential return for the Blues just when they might need him. Options in midfield looked scarce in Sunday's FA Cup defeat not helped by injury, illness and suspensions.

A general view of Anfield stadium

Everton new stadium making huge progress

Everton fans are able to see a huge amount of progress on a state-of-the-art new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock as the latest drone footage from the area has been released.

The Blues have been hard at work on their waterfront site since enabling works first began in July 2021, with a number of exciting updates being released over that time. Saturday marks a year since the project was given the green light by the government following planning committee approval being secured in February 2021.

And the last few months particularly have seen sweeping changes made to the site. The water in the dock has completely disappeared, piling works have taken place all over the area and the first concrete foundations and layers of the super-structure have begun to be laid.

Blues have Donny van de Beek dilemma amid Manchester United manager talks

Life couldn’t have started any better for Donny van de Beek at Everton. Frank Lampard not only looked to be benefiting from the January transfer deadline day move, but Van de Beek looked everything like the midfielder he was made out to be.

And although the on-loan Dutchman has struggled to replicate his early performances in recent weeks, he could still play a vital role in the club’s battle to avoid the drop.

But now it appears that Van de Beek could be reunited with his old boss this summer. That is because his parent club Manchester United have interviewed Ajax boss Erik ten Hag about potentially becoming the club's next permanent manager.

That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who are reporting that Ten Hag is United's preferred choice to take over in the summer. However, the same report claims the club has not made a final decision as it continues with its recruitment process.

But it appears that the current Ajax boss is the leading contender to take over at Old Trafford in the summer. Something that Van de Beek will no doubt be paying close attention to.

McCoist impressed with Patterson

Nathan Patterson's performance for Scotland last night has not gone unnoticed.

Former Rangers player turned television pundit Ally McCoist was watching the game and was impressed with what he saw from the Everton youngster.

McCoist said: "I was at Hampden last night to watch Scotland V Poland and he was excellent, he played really, really well. I'm very surprised he hasn't had more game time at Everton. Should we be patient? Absolutely, because he's going to be a player."

Richarlison on the mark for Brazil

Richarlison of Everton

Richarlison might not have a Premier League goal for Everton since January 15, but that didn't stop him from netting for Brazil last night in their World Cup Qualifier against Chile. The striker was a second half substitue and tapped home a stoppage-time fourth to complete the rout.

Also in action was Blues defender Nathan Patterson, who has barely had a look-in at Goodison Park this season but put in an impressive shift for Scotland last night against Poland.

Moise Kean Everton return rumours

There is no arrangement in Everton striker Moise Kean’s two-year loan deal at Juventus to bring him back to Goodison Park next season.

Calciomercato report the Serie A club are trying to get out of their agreement to permanently re-sign the player, and quote Italian journalist Paolo Bargiggia as saying: “Regarding Kean, the signals are not very good. They will try to return him by not continuing with the deal set when they took him.” The article has prompted outlets back in the UK to speculate that Kean could be back turning out in a royal blue jersey in the 2022/23 campaign with fellow frontmen Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison both linked with potential Goodison Park exits in recent weeks.

However, the ECHO understands there is no break clause in Kean’s two-year loan deal which includes an obligation for Juventus – who sold the player to Everton for an initial £25million in 2019 – to buy him back permanently for €28million (£24million) plus €3million in add ons, in the summer of 2023, subject to certain sporting objectives having been met by the end of next season.

Despite emerging as one of Europe’s brightest young talents during his first spell at Juventus and becoming the youngest player to score for Italy in a competitive fixture, his time so far on Merseyside has proven difficult both on and off the pitch.

Blues target set to leave San Siro

Matias Vecino of Inter Milan (Image: Mattia Ozbot - Inter/Inter via Getty Images)

Everton could revive their interest in Matias Vecino after it was reported that the midfielder is almost certain to leave Inter Milan at the end of the season.

According to Calciomercato, the Uruguayan has finally ran out of patience with his lack of game time for Simone Inzaghi's side and will seek an exit this summer. Vecino has made 16 appearances for Inter this season, but 14 of them were off the bench.

His availability is of interest to the Blues because Calciomercato reported that Everton were in pole position for his signature during the January transfer window, but could now look to get the player for free.

Vecino is understood to have wages of around £80,000 per week, which Everton would need to match to do a deal.
