Speaking on the All To Play For Podcast, Alan Smith has been discussing Thomas Partey after his underwhelming showing against Crystal Palace.
Smith had been impressed by Partey’s performances thus far for the Gunners, stating that he’s had a ‘really good’ campaign, but the pundit is fearful that his showing against Palace will have dented his confidence.
The ex-striker states that the Ghanaian had a stinker against the Eagles, claiming that the midfielder needs to bounce back after the game against Arsenal’s London rivals.
What’s been said?
Smith spoke about Partey.
“He’s been really good, but he had a stinker again at Palace, but no Arsenal player really performed, but you’re just looking at him to bounce back now because it will have affected his confidence,” Smith said.

Injured at the worst time
Smith says that Partey needs to bounce back, but unfortunately, he picked up an injury against Palace, and that may have come at the worse possible time.
As the pundit says, the midfielder was poor against Palace, and now, he may have to wait two or three weeks to get back out on the pitch, and he may be thrown straight back in at the deep end.
Indeed, in a fortnight’s time, Arsenal will be facing back-to-back games against Chelsea and Manchester United, and if Partey’s confidence is still dented from the Palace game he could struggle when coming up against this top opposition.
Fingers crossed Partey will be able to put this one behind him.
