Steven Gerrard and his Aston Villa side now face a lengthy wait to right the wrongs that have occurred in their recent four-game losing streak, as they now face a two-week break before their next Premier League fixture.

Gerrard's men will travel to the King Power Stadium on April 23 with the aim of securing the league double over Brendan Rodgers, after an impressive 2-1 victory was recorded in December 2021. The two week break for Villa has been caused due to a fixture postponement for Liverpool's trip to Villa Park, due their participation in the upcoming FA Cup semi finals this weekend.

Liverpool will now face Manchester City the semi final on the 16th April, when Villa were originally scheduled to face Jurgen Klopp's side. A statement from Liverpool stated: "The game at Villa Park was scheduled for a 5.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday April 16; however, the Reds’ progress to the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals means they will now have a fixture at Wembley that weekend."
