Stefan Savic stat vs Man City defies belief after he sparked brawl and pulled hair

Stefan Savic remarkably didn't commit a single foul when Manchester City travelled to the Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League despite being the ultimate pantomime villain

A remarkable stat about Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic has emerged after the defender was the heart of controversy on Wednesday evening.

Savic went through the 90 minutes - plus the added nine - against Manchester City without making a single foul. This was despite the Montenegrin starting a mass brawl, pulling Jack Grealish's hair, and then reportedly chasing the Englishman up the tunnel.

The defender didn't cover himself in glory when - with Atleti chasing the game - he pulled Phil Foden off the pitch following a foul from Felipe. A mass brawl ensued, and BT Sport cameras caught Savic appearing to headbutt Raheem Sterling.

However, the Montenegrin was only brandished a yellow card for his troubles.

As more footage of the scuffle emerged, pictures also showed Savic coming to blows with Grealish, who was warming up in the corner where Foden had been fouled. Grealish appears to tell Savic: "Oi, you're a c***," before Savic grabs a lock of Grealish's hair and yanks it.

Savic, who had become the pantomime villain at this point, wasn't done there, and he and Grealish again exchanged words in the tunnel after the game.

Ironically, Savic has a Premier League winners medal under his belt with City a decade ago.

Savic made 12 appearances for City during the 11/12 campaign, even notching a goal, as a young promising centre-half. But his performances were inconsistent, and Roberto Mancini elected to sell the defender to Fiorentina at the end of the season.
