Ryan Christie on the Celtic finale that still bugs him as he remains invested in old team

Christie left Celtic in a £2.5 million move last summer and admits he doesn't regret the decision.

Ryan Christie admits derby defeat to Rangers in his final game in Hoops still bugs him to this day.

The former Celtic playmaker featured in a 1-0 Ibrox defeat to Rangers, taking flak for several wayward efforts in the match.

And Christie, who made the switch from Glasgow to Bournemouth last summer opens up on his thinking behind the much talked about move after that match.

"Yeah it was. Obviously it frustratingly ended in a defeat which still bugs me", Christie told Go Radio.

"I got lucky enough to play in plenty Old Firm's before I left Celtic and whenever they come around now I'm still eager to tune in and watch them.

"Everybody around you, obviously the first question they ask you when it's on is 'what it's like to play in? and 'how good is the atmosphere' and you always just tell them how amazing it is and how much it's kind of built up around the whole country whenever it's on.

"So I'm still looking on supporting my old team mates and pals."

Christie's decision to move south and going from Europe to a club in the English Championship raised eyebrows but he now stands on the cusp of Premier League football.

And the Scotland international doesn't regret his decision to sign a three year deal with the Cherries.

"It didn't really affect me in any way, I knew in my head that the decision I made was right", added Christie.

"And I got that feeling even after a couple of weeks of being down here and stepping in the door at Bournemouth I felt like I'd made the right decision.

"Soon as I had that feeling, I just took it step by step from there."
