Leonardo: Mbappe is thinking about staying at Paris Saint-Germain
The forward could yet snub the chance to join Real Madrid this summer
Paris Saint-Germain won't throw in the towel with Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has two months left on his contract and his future looks set to be with Real Madrid, but his current club are still hopeful of turning things around. Sporting director Leonardo confirmed as much after PSG won Ligue 1 on Saturday.
"We are always in direct contract, I think he tells us the truth: Mbappe is thinking about his future," Leonardo said in an optimistic tone.
His discourse left open the door to the forward staying in Paris when it seems they had lost him to Madrid: "I think there's a chance he stays and also a chance he leaves, but he's really thinking about renewing."
The signs that Mbappe could take a step back on his move to Madrid were first revealed this week when L'Equipe claimed his mother, Fayza Lamari, visited Qatar to negotiate a new deal.
