Joelinton handed major FIFA 22 upgrade along with two Newcastle United teammates
Joelinton has received an upgrade on FIFA 22 following his strong run of form in the Premier League this season
Newcastle United's Joelinton has been handed a major upgrade on FIFA 22 by EA Sports along with a couple other Magpies stars in the latest in-game squad update.
Following the turn of the year, Newcastle have lost just four out of 16 Premier League games, with Eddie Howe's side currently 10th in the league table. A vital part of the Magpies' squad in 2022 has been Joelinton, with the Brazilian having had his best run of form since moving into midfield.
His move to midfield has also given the Brazilian a major confidence boost. Joelinton scored twice for Newcastle on his return to the striker role against Norwich City, and EA have rewarded the 25-year-old with an upgrade on FIFA 22 since.
The latest FIFA 22 squad update was released on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, with the squad update now available to download on all platforms including PC, Xbox and PlayStation. As well as having his overall and potential rating upgraded, Joelinton had a host of other stats increased.
Following the update, the 25-year-old's overall rating has been upgraded from 74 to 75 overall, with his potential increasing from 79 to 80 overall. The upgrade means Joelinton is now classed as a 'Gold' player on FIFA 22, a title given to players rated 75 and above.
The Brazilian had 12 of his in-game stats also upgraded, with his dribbling (78-79), long passing (65-67), ball control (77-79), reactions (76-77), balance (67-68), stamina (78-80), interceptions (52-54), vision (74-75), marking (46-49), standing tackle (58-60), sliding tackle (46-48) and composure (73-74) increasing. This upgrade now means Joelinton is now the same rating as players like Jamal Lascelles, Karl Darlow and Joe Willock.
In addition to Joelinton, Dan Burn and Willock also received boosts to specific attributes, but no upgrade to their overall. The only other players to see their overall rating increase in the update is winger Jacob Murphy and midfielder Sean Longstaff.
Murphy's overall and potential upgraded from 73 to 74 overall, whilst his reactions (68-69) and positioning (70-71) also increased. Longstaff's rating increased from 72 to 73 rated, whilst his long passing (72-73), vision (73-74), marking (66-67), standing tackle (70-71) and sliding tackle (59-60) also received minor upgrades.
