Former England striker Peter Crouch and United Kingdom's Eurovision hero Sam Ryder had fans in stitches with a video of the pair singing an unlikely duet in a quiet pub.

With Ryder kicking off a rendition of Sinad O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U while sitting at the bar over a pint glass, he turns the camera around to reveal ex-Tottenham and Liverpool forward Crouch.

With the 6ft 7in football star then expertly delivering the second line, a large group appears from behind him and the duet becomes a choir with Crouch holding up a pint of Guinness to the camera with a large grin.

Ryder had in fact appeared on That Peter Crouch Podcast back in April, with co-host Chris Stark also taking part in their impromptu pub singalong.

The video was of course taken in advance of Eurovision Song Contest 2022 final, which was hosted in Italy following Maneskin's victory in Rotterdam in 2021.

Crouch joked that the pub singalong was in fact the best performance of Ryder, who secured the UK's first top three Eurovision finish since way back in 2002.
