Our papa would be having a blast with the Rangers fans say Walter Smith’s four young grandsons in Seville

WALTER SMITH’S grandsons say their papa would be "having a blast" with the Rangers supporters in Seville.

The Ibrox legend was in charge when the club last had a crack at a European final in Manchester 14 years ago.

They came up short in the end, losing out 2-0 to Zenit St Petersburg under former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Smith passed away back in October, with Rangers kitman Jimmy Bell passing away earlier this month.

The four boys say their papa would be mixing amongst fellow supporters and the team are doing it for him and Jimmy Bell.

Zac, 11, Tom, 10 and twin cousins Jack and Adam will be inside the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium alongside around 20,000 Light Blues supporters.

And they are hoping James Tavernier and co get the job done in normal time.

Speaking to the BBC, Zac said: "Obviously my papa made it to the final and didn't win it - we're trying to make up for that today.

“It’s weird to think because he’s our papa and he’s done all this for Rangers.

“If it goes to penalties, I’m going out of the stadium and listen for a celebration.

“I think it’s for two people, Walter and Jimmy. It’s just incredible that it’s just came at this time.”

Young Tom added: “It’s incredible how we got here in the first place. It’s incredible how they actually got here in the first place.”

While the twins Walter would be out enjoying the occasion with supporters.

And they reckon the former Scotland boss would’ve found his way onto the park if they manage to win tonight.

They added: “He’d probably be having a blast right now, wouldn’t he? Just running around having a great time here.

“Obviously he’d want us to win, 100%.

“He’d be in and amongst it though. He’d be a pitch invader!!”
