Charlie Adam announces Dundee departure after ‘dream’ two years at home town club

CHARLIE ADAM has revealed he is LEAVING Dundee.
The 36-year old former Scotland star is out of contract and the summer and he's revealed he's played his last game for the club.
Adam skippered his hometown club in the Premiership this season but couldn't prevent the Dens Park side from being relegated back to the second tier.
The former Rangers and Liverpool man joined the Dee in 2020 after a spell at Reading came to an end.
After revealing news of his imminent exit, he described his experience as a 'dream' and a 'pleasure.
Adam posted on Twitter: "It was always my dream to play for my home town club and the last two years at Dundee have been really special for me and family.

"To captain the club, and lead the team to promotion is something I'll always treasure and one of the highlights of my career.
"The supporters have been nothing short of incredible to me - I'll never forget how you've all treated me in the last two years.
"All that said, after talks with the directors about their future plans, I've decided to leave the club at the end of my contract this summer.
"I wish everyone at Dens Park all the best in leading Dundee back to the Premiership next season.

"As for my future, I'm looking forward to a new challenge which I'll consider over the next few weeks.
"Dundee, it's been a pleasure."
Adam departs Dens Park having made 65 appearances across his two seasons at the club.
He was a standout performer as James McPake led the side to promotion via the play-offs last season, with Adam himself bagging the winning goal in the first leg of the final win over Kilmarnock.
However, Dundee found it tough back in the big time this season and were always in a battle for survival.
McPake was sacked as boss in February despite back to back wins, with the Dark Blues second bottom of the Premiership.
Things didn't improve under new manager Mark McGhee with Dundee going on a dismal 12-game run without a win that ultimately consigned them to relegation.
They were eventually confirmed down just a day after getting their first win of the campaign, a 3-1 win over Hibs.
