Bruno Lage will meet with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ hierarchy to discuss his crowded wide department - and the futures of Adama Traore and Francisco Trincao are high on the agenda.

Spanish speedster Traore is set to return to Wolves after Barcelona refused their option to sign him for £25million. Traore has spent the past four months on loan at the Camp Nou, but he’s barely played under head coach Xavi since late February.

Wolves have an almost identical option to sign Trincao from Barcelona after his loan spell concluded with a late substitute appearance in the defeat to Liverpool on Sunday. Portugal international Trincao scored twice in 28 Premier League appearances for Wolves.

Traore has just a year remaining on his contract, which could see owners Fosun look to offload him in this summer’s transfer window. Trincao, meanwhile, reportedly wants to be reunited with former Braga manager Ruben Amorim at Sporting.

Lage plans to meet with chairman Jeff Shi and technical director Scott Sellars to discuss Wolves’ plans for Traore and Trincao. Wolves already have Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence, Chiquinho and Hwang Hee-chan jostling for wide forward positions, and Lage has revealed his desire for Morgan Gibbs-White to join his squad next season.

“There are a lot of things in question, and to be honest we need to understand every situation to finalise the squad that we want,” Lage explained. “We need to understand what happened with Adama, what happened with Trincao, what happened with Chiquinho, what happened with Morgan, Podence, Pedro Neto… we have six players and in that position I want just four, maybe one more, five.

“We need to understand that can happen. We will sit down one more time and discuss everything.”
