Joan Laporta tells Wolves Barcelona plans for Adama Traore and Trincao

Latest Wolves news from BirminghamLive includes an update from Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Adama Traore and Trincao's situations

Joan Laporta has suggested Barcelona are being priced out of a permanent move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

Traore has spent the second half of the season on loan at the Camp Nou, but it looks increasingly likely Barcelona won't exercise their £25million option to sign him. Laporta has previously admitted that Barcelona's present financial predicament means they cannot commit to that outlay for Traore.

However, he has hinted that Barcelona would be open to a swap deal involving Francisco Trincao, who scored twice in 28 Premier League appearances during his season-long loan at Wolves. Wolves have an option to sign Trincao permanently for £25m.

In his latest interview with Barcelona-based newspaper SPORT, Laporta again floated the idea of a swap deal when quizzed on Traore's future. He said: “We are happy with him, he gave an impulse to the team and there’s nothing to recriminate him for. It’s an FFP question. The buy option is elevated and the market is moving.

"We have the Trincao situation which is reciprocal because it’s the same amount of money. We’ll see what happens. The market is moving and there is interest in these players and we have to evaluate the FFP factor.”

Wolves head coach Bruno Lage plans to meet with the club's hierarchy to discuss Traore and Trincao's futures as he whittles down his crowded wide department for next season. Lage plans to welcome Traore back to Wolves with open arms if the Spain international returns.
