Team bus carrying Bulgarian national side in ‘serious road accident’ with midfield star rushed to hospital ahead of game

THE Bulgarian national team were involved in a terrifying road accident after arriving in Georgia.
Winger Todor Nedelev was taken to hospital after their driver “lost control” of the vehicle in Tbilisi.
Bulgaria are due to take on Georgia on Sunday in their latest Nations League clash.
However, their preparations got off to the worst possible start after the coach they were travelling in to the team hotel crashed on Friday.
A statement from the Bulgarian FA confirmed the incident.
And they revealed that their star midfielder had been taken to hospital following the crash.

It read: “The national team suffered a serious road accident after arriving in Tbilisi.
“On the way to the team’s hotel, the driver of the first of the two buses carrying our team lost control of the vehicle.
“After the collision, midfielder Todor Nedelev was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently undergoing extensive clinical examinations.
“All other members of the team and staff of the Bulgarian national team are doing well.”

The 29-year-old attacker currently has 44 caps for his country - scoring five times.
Nedelev, who plays for Botev Plovdiv in his homeland, came off the bench in Thursday’s 1-1 draw in Gibraltar.
Bulgaria currently sit third in their Nations League table behind Georgia and North Macedonia after three group stage matches.
