Anthony Ralston in Scotland flashpoint as Celtic star shows no fear in Armenia player clash

The full-back was quick to defend teammate Scott McTominay after a brutal lunge.

Bullish Anthony Ralston rushed to the defence of Scotland teammate Lewis Ferguson during a bad-tempered Nations League clash with Armenia.

Kamo Hovhannisyan became the second player to be sent off of the night for a heavy lunge on the Aberdeen man, who came on as a substitute.

An instant row between the players ensured as the home players protested their teammate's innocence.

Celtic star Ralston wasn't willing to the incident rest as he rushed over to his teammate to confront the Armenian.

The pair got in each others faces before Hovhannisyan marched down the tunnel.

It followed namesake Arman Hovhannisyan's red card after a headbutt on John McGinn in the first half.

The bad blood also boiled over at the final whistle with both sets of players involved as it all boiled over.

In the end, it was a comfortable and much-needed 4-1 win for Steve Clarke's side.

A double from Stuart Armstong, and strikes from Che Adams and McGinn were enough on the night for Scotland.
