Nohan Kenneh has been quoted by The Scotsman as saying that Leeds United captain Liam Cooper urged him to leave Elland Road and join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian this summer.
Kenneh, 19, is one of six Under-23 players to have left Leeds this summer. Liam McCarron left Leeds earlier this week on a permanent basis, joining Championship side Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.
Ryan Edmondson has gone to Carlisle, Josh Galloway to Annan – while Alfie Hughes and Bobby Kamwa have been released. Kenneh left after failing to make his debut, but was on the bench for 14 Premier League games last term.

Speaking after a pre-season friendly against Hartlepool, Kenneh discussed his Leeds exit. He says he spoke to Scotland international and Leeds captain Cooper about Hibernian – urging him to make the move to Easter Road.
“When I heard the position they’re in I felt it was the right fit. The skipper knew some of the boys like Paul McGinn. He told me it would be brilliant, to go there and to just play my game and prove myself.”

It is a brilliant move for Kenneh. Yet to taste first-team football, Liberia-born England Under-17 international Kenneh will almost certainly be a part of Lee Johnson’s new first-team side.
The Scottish Premiership is often a scouting pool for clubs down south. Kenneh could use his time at Easter Road as a springboard. But right now, he will be focusing on becoming a regular either in defence, or midfield.
