Celtic transfer news as Christopher Jullien claim emerges and Vinicius Souza rules another club out

The big centre-back is expected to move on this summer

Out of favour Christopher Jullien 's move to Schalke is NOT completely off the table, according to reports in France.

The big centre-back is expected to move on from Celtic this summer after falling down the pecking order during his injury-enforced absence. Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers became the first-choice pairing last season and the American returns on a permanent deal, while Stephen Welsh is also ahead of Jullien in the queue.

He was in Germany on Thursday to complete a move to Schalke but after extensive medical tests, it was reported that the Bundesliga side had pulled the plug on the deal, with Jullien flying back to Glasgow to train with Ange Postecoglou 's team. Now, though, Goal in France say that there is still some hope, with player is in talks with the German side over reviving the move. Jullien has made 62 appearances for Celtic since joining from Tolouse in 2019 but it looks increasingly like he has played his final game, with Postecoglou seemingly eyeing another centre-back.

Journalist Marc Mechenoua wrote: "The arrival of Christopher Jullien at Schalke 04 is not completely ruled out. Discussions are continuing between representatives of the players and the Ruhr club. Still no agreement between the two parties."

Meanwhile, Vinicius Souza is unlikely to move to Brugge this summer, according to multiple reports in Belgium.

The Lommel man spent last season at Mechelen on loan but he has informed the title winners he sees his future elsewhere.

That's good news for the chasing pack - which includes the Premiership champions ahead of their return to the Champions League.

Elsewhere, Karamoko Demebele is on the verge of officially being announced by Stade Brest in the coming days.

The Ligue 1 side have been long-time admirers of the 19-year-old and a deal is expected to be rubber stamped imminently.
